Playa Encuentro sits between Cabarete and Sosúa, along the main coastal road that connects the communities of the Dominican Republic’s North Coast. That position is one of the area’s greatest advantages: you do not have to choose between the surf, restaurants, shopping and practical services.
Cabarete, approximately eight minutes east, is the place for beachfront dining, cafés, nightlife, kiteboarding and an energetic international atmosphere. Sosúa, roughly 10 to 15 minutes west, offers larger supermarkets, pharmacies, medical services and sheltered beaches. Encuentro feels quieter and more residential, with surf culture woven into its daily routine.
Staying here gives you access to all three without placing you directly in the busiest part of either town. Mornings can begin at Encuentro Beach, afternoons can be spent exploring the coast, and evenings can end at a Cabarete restaurant or close to home at the neighbourhood food park.

Gregorio Luperón International Airport (POP)
POP is the closest and most convenient airport for Playa Encuentro. The drive to Coral Breeze Vacation generally takes about 20 to 25 minutes in normal traffic. Because the route follows the North Coast toward Sosúa and Cabarete, the transfer is direct and does not require travelling through Puerto Plata city centre.
Cibao International Airport (STI)
Santiago’s airport is another useful option when flight schedules or fares are more favourable. Allow approximately 1 hour 15 minutes to 1 hour 30 minutes by car, with additional time during heavy traffic or poor weather. A prearranged transfer or rental car is the simplest choice for this longer route.

An Encuentro day
Begin early at Encuentro Beach when surfers and surf schools are most active. Return to the condo for breakfast, relax by the pool, then walk to the bakery, local market or food park. This is the easiest kind of day to enjoy without arranging transportation.

A Cabarete day
Combine Kite Beach with Cabarete Beach, browse local shops and stay for dinner beside the water. Cabarete works especially well for guests interested in kiteboarding, wind sports, cafés and a lively evening atmosphere. Janet’s Supermarket is a convenient grocery stop along this direction.

A Sosúa day
Pair Playa Alicia or Sosúa Beach with a larger grocery run at Supermercado Playero or La Sirena. This direction is also useful for pharmacies, medical care and the route toward POP airport and Puerto Plata. It is the practical side of the coast as well as a worthwhile beach day.
